AMAGIER stands for Imagination and beautiful African textiles
I got inspired on a visit to Malawi by all the colourful cloths people were selling in the markets. Everybody needs a splash of colour in their lives and that's why I have decided to bring some of that colour back to Europe.
I hope these products will bring a splash of colour to your home as well!
Everything you find on this website is handmade from African fabrics - some of them sourced directly from Malawi.
Our Mission
It all started by supporting a charity event for the non profit organisation Kuluka.
Kuluka primarily worked on projects that supported the development of healthcare in Malawi.
Kuluka - means to weave in Malawi and their motto was "a stitch in time saves lives".
Therefore I had the idea to "stitch" something for them to sell at fund raising events in support of blood donation in Malawi.
As time has passed Kuluka stopped it's operations but Amagier has now expanded and is working together with two tailors in Mzuzu, Malawi. One of them has just completed her apprenticeship as a tailor. Through the sales it helps them to grow their businesses and supports their families.
